Released in 1968 included trumpet players Lew Soloff and Chuck Winfield. This is their first album with David Clayton-Thomas as lead singer. The trumpet solo by Lew Soloff in the hit Spinning Wheel is legendary. Soloff often re-created this solo when performing as a guest artist. On this original recording, Winfield wasn't available for the Spinning Wheel recording session and Soloff got his good friend, Alan Rubin to sub for Winfield.
