For years it has been told that Bill Adam studied with William Vacchiano. It was on Mr. Adam's bio when it first appeared on this website in 1996 that was first assembled by a former student.

Just as Mr. Adam has been honored with this website, Dr. Brian Shook has honored Vacchiano with a very nice - OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF WILLIAM VACCHIANO. Mr. Adam always spoke highly of William Vacciano just as he did of Bud Herseth and other fine trumpet players.

In Dr. Shook's research he didn't find Mr. Adam's name mentioned and he isn't listed among the students on the website he created. In 06/20/2011 Dr. Shook had a phone call with Mr. Adam to ask him. Mr. Adam told him, he never studied with Vacciano directly. He said he studied with him indirectly. This is why Dr. Shook refrained from putting Mr. Adam's name on the website of William Vacchiano students.
