This Schilke rotary C trumpet is one of two prototypes built for the orchestral trumpet market prior to Renold Schilke's death in1982. They were purchased later by members of the Atlanta Symphony. This one was sold on consignment after the retirement of the owner (Larry Black?) on eBay by Rich Ita for $1650.00 in July 2002. It features a spring loaded push rod to activate the third slide and the rotor linkage is a very smooth nylon ball and socket system.
