The first Benge trumpet?

This horn is owned by a woman in Ohio who does not wish to sell the horn and wants to remain anonymous. But it was inspected at my request by a reputable collector, Bill Faust, who feels it is a legitimate Chicago Benge with serial number 520. This obviously puts into question the oral history reflected in the serial number data base but until another horn can be found with a number under 525 we will keep our list as is. Benge #520 is in very poor condition and not playable at the time it was inspected.
